kkonrad
I'm interested in ULD-TP-550 antenna together with Shielded Adaptor V2 for RouterBoard. I'm looking for: 1. Radiation pattern data in any format (ant, msi or raw csv, txt, etc.). 2. VSWR plots for full frequency range of typical RouterBoard radio (i.e. 4.9 - 6.1 GHz). Thank you in advance for your support. JORGE
Hi kkonrad, you can find the .ANT files on our web page, for example for UltraDish 550 here: https://www.rfelements.com/products/wireless-broadband/ultradish-tp-antennas/download/antenna-files regarding the point 2, you should find the answer on the mikrotik site... if you have any other questions, I am at your disposal... thanks
kkonrad
Thank you Jorge for your ultra-quick reply! Oh, I've been looking for the radiation pattern data some time ago, but it wasn't available yet. Regarding the VSWR plots - this is RF Element's antenna design, so I won't find anything on MikroTik website.
JORGE
Sure, sorry for misunderstanding :-) let me check with our Ing's and I'll let you know :-) Thx
JORGE
Dear kkonrad here is the answer from our Ing's: We guarantee a VSWR of less than 1.8 from 5180 MHZ to 6400 MHz as stated in our datasheet. Below 5180 MHz VSWR increases quickly so we strongly recommend you do not use this adaptor at lower frequencies. We do not provide plots for each adaptor (since each individual adaptor is slightly different). I hope this answer is ok, if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thanks.
kkonrad
OK, thanks for info. One more question - are there any plans for bigger UltraDishes?
JT
None in close future, but in long term it is possible, we are looking into it, collecting customer feedback.
kkonrad
Recently I've got an opportunity to perform some measurements using a professional VNA, so I also took the Ultra Dish with TPA-RBC. The VSWR exceeds 2.0 below 5.17 GHz as expected. I used the following MMCX - SMA adapter:https://www.cdr.pl/p3606,przejsciowka-beczka-sma-m-mmcx-f-sma-j-mmcx-k.html
kkonrad
Does the UltraDish Radome fit the previous version of dishes? Wet snow is greatly reducing the signals lately. Initially a few dBs (like the picture below), but as the snow layer gets thicker I see a loss of 10 dB or more. EDIT: I've found the answer there: Quote Q2: Is the new radome compatible with "old" UltraDish, ULD-TP-550? A2: No, the radome is compatible only with the new generation UltraDish 27 TP with product ID: UD-TP-27 https://www.rfelab.com/topic/1102-qa-from-april-2021-new-product-release-event/#comment-3387 Too bad. Tom
Sorry about that, yeah, the edge of the dish is different between the generations and the radome was optimized for the new gen only..
